TOP 3 BREWS

Oliver’s Pantry

This quirky cafe is just a stones throw off the Market Square. Here they are passionate about full bodied coffee and flavoursome loose leaf tea, serving fresh wholesome and uplifting food all day, every day!

You will feel a warm welcome from the moment you walk through the door and the buzz of a busy happy cafe. You can always rely on a great atmosphere all year round, but with the outdoor area at the rear, it really is a great spot to enjoy those lovely summer days when the weather is a little warmer!

We’d recommend the Big Olly’s Breakfast ‑ a massive booster start to any day of adventuring

Realitea Team Room

Just a short stroll off the market square on North Street is the superb Realitea‑ the tea room and indian bistro with a twist. From lattes and cappuccinos to hot melted chocolate and premium teas, their stimulating (literally) beverages are the ideal way to start the morning, or help make it through the afternoon.

Complement your beverage with an indulgent afternoon tea, a variety of baked beauties or if it’s something savoury you’re after, Realitea have an excellent array of mouth watering dishes with a distinct Indian flavour, making brunch and lunch a total treat. The last time we grabbed a bite here, the Lamb Kathi and Chickpea Samosa blew our minds!

With its super service and excellent knowledge of their premium teas, there’s no wonder this place is super popular with the local foodies . . .

Chimes Cafe

If it’s first class scones you’re after, look no further than Kirkgate’s very own Chimes Cafe (just opposite the ginnel to the cottage).

Located perfectly for those visiting the Cathedral, this quaint little cafe boasts freshly baked produce, homemade light lunches, quiches, sandwiches, panini’s and has gained celebrity status for all things accompanying a superb cuppa! We’re particularly fond of the cherry and marzipan scone option.

Superb all year round, but particularly lovely in those summer months with its secret secluded court yard to the rear. It’s the perfect place to pause for a while before planning your next move. Not got much time? No probs, grab a take away and crack on with your adventures . . .
